Today was the Tour of Grandview down by Columbus. This is one big race because of the crazy prize money. The junior field paid $250! It was very hot and humid even at our start time of 8:30am. The junior field was fairly small (7 riders) but almost everyone was 16, 17, or 18. A big kudos to Erick Madis for hanging tough in a much older field. A group of five stayed together for the entire race. In that group was Cory St. Clair, Sam Murdock, myself, and a rider from Anthem and Team Dayton. At the bell lap Sam and Cory put the hammer down for the last sprint up the hill. I managed 2nd place in the sprint. After the race I started throwing in up in someone's lawn. Later I learned that Cory was also throwing up. What the heck, we raced together, we may as well throw up together. The day's winnings were $50!! Thanks for reading!
Ride On,
Drew
PS, Remind me not to eat any more spinach quiche for breakfast on race morning!

Don't eat spinach quiche, and DON'T ever eat beef jerky before a race.
Alexey Vermeulen puked in the middle of a race last year, and another guy puked in a race this year, because they ate beef jerky.
Beef jerky is bad!
Well, if you puked, then you went hard enough :).
Hey Drew, I noticed that the junior 13/14 race at the Troy Classic is only four laps. That seems pretty short. Is there anyway that you can convince the race promoters to lengthen the race, since you ride on the same team that they ride on?
James, looks ilke a time issue. I'm going to do the Cat 4 race too. There is talk of going to the Pancake Race. If we go I'm going to do the Cat 4 cat. Are you up for it. Remember....it's as flat as a pancake!!!
Drew
hmmmm...we'll see:-). I kind of would want to do the LAJORS race, but I do need upgrade points for Nationals next year.
Good job Drew! I met a good friend of mine because we often dry heaved together after racing.
